Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and we’re excited to celebrate this special occasion with our little ones and their wonderful mums! At our nursery, we believe in creating heartfelt memories, and what better way to do that than by making Mother’s Day in childcare extra special?
This year, we have planned a variety of fun activities that will allow children to express their love and appreciation for their mums in creative and meaningful ways. Plus, many of our nursery locations will be inviting mothers to join us for a delightful Mother’s Day tea party—a perfect way to share quality time together.

Fun Mother’s Day Activities for Our Little Learners
To make Mother’s Day in childcare truly special, we have a lineup of exciting activities that will keep our children engaged while helping them show their love for their mums. Some of the activities planned include:
Handmade Cards & Crafts: Children will have the opportunity to create heartfelt Mother’s Day cards, decorate them with colourful designs, and write (or dictate) sweet messages to their mums.
Flower Arranging: A fun and hands-on way for children to put together a small "bouquet" for their mothers, making flowers through various craft activities, learning about different flowers along the way.
Mother’s Day Songs & Poems: The children will practice and perform special songs and poems to express their appreciation, creating a touching moment for all.
Baking & Decorating Treats: Some nurseries will be engaging little chefs in decorating cupcakes or cookies as a sweet surprise for their mums.
These activities not only help children develop fine motor skills and creativity but also give them a chance to learn about gratitude and appreciation.

A Special Mother’s Day Tea Party
One of the highlights of our celebration is the Mother’s Day tea party, where mums are invited to come and spend some quality time at the nursery. The tea party will be a lovely way to relax, enjoy some delicious treats, and cherish the precious moments shared with their little ones.
The children will take pride in helping set up the tea party, decorating the tables, and even serving their mums some tea and biscuits. This event is a wonderful opportunity to bring families together, strengthening the bond between home and nursery in a warm and welcoming environment.
Why Celebrating Mother’s Day in Childcare is Important
Mother’s Day in childcare is more than just a fun event—it’s a chance to teach young children about love, appreciation, and the importance of family. By participating in these activities, children develop emotional connections and understand the value of expressing gratitude to those who care for them.
We can’t wait to celebrate this special day with all our wonderful mums and children. If your nursery location is hosting a Mother’s Day tea party, be sure to join us for an unforgettable experience filled with love, laughter, and happy memories!
