Pippa’s House Children's Nursery in Esher - Sandown Racecourse
We’re so excited to share that Pippa’s House Nursery is coming to Esher in October 2025 - and we’re right on Sandown Racecourse!
We have two dedicated buildings, each tailored to the age, stage, and needs of its residents. Outside, we’re spoiled with expansive green space and our very own on-site Forest School, where children can climb, dig, create, and discover the wonders of nature every single day. Whether it’s making mud pies, hunting for mini-beasts, or enjoying a story under the trees, learning here is always hands-on, exciting, and full of adventure.
From messy play to school-ready skills, Pippa’s House Esher is a place where children feel safe, happy, and inspired to shine.
NURSERY MANAGER
Kim Matthews
Kim joined Pippa’s House Esher with a strong background in early years, having worked in childcare since 2014. She has progressed from a qualified practitioner to Nursery Manager and holds Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications, along with safeguarding and paediatric first aid training. Kim is deeply passionate about early years education and loves watching children grow and develop. From first words and first friendships to those special “wow moments” that make the job so rewarding. She is committed to making a real difference during this crucial stage of a child’s life, helping to build confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. Kim also values working closely with her team and families, creating a strong, supportive nursery community.
DEPUTY MANAGER
Katelan
Katelan joined Pippa’s House Esher in 2018 and has grown within the setting from an unqualified practitioner through to Deputy Manager. She is Level 3 qualified and brings a wealth of hands-on experience across all age groups within the nursery. Katelan is passionate about supporting children through their early years and loves seeing them reach key milestones and thrive in a happy, nurturing environment. She takes great pride in creating positive day-to-day experiences for both children and families and supporting the team to deliver high-quality care and learning.

Our settling babies
At Pippa’s House in Sandown, our youngest children are welcomed into a warm and nurturing environment designed to support them as they begin their journey away from home. Located in the inviting downstairs rooms, these spaces are carefully curated to help babies feel safe, secure, and ready to explore. Our experienced team works closely with families to ensure each child’s routine and individual needs are met, helping to create a smooth and comforting transition into nursery life.
Our curious toddlers
Toddlers at Pippa’s House are encouraged to explore, discover, and develop through purposeful play. With access to a range of stimulating materials and real-life resources, they initiate their own learning experiences and grow in confidence. Messy play is an exciting part of their day, enriching their sensory development and imagination. Outdoor play is a key part of our routine, where toddlers enjoy running, climbing, and riding, building their physical skills and coordination while having plenty of fun in the fresh air.
Our independent preschoolers
In our preschool rooms, children are prepared for the next stage of their learning through a thoughtful and engaging curriculum. Pre-reading and pre-writing skills are nurtured through mark-making, storytelling, and focused activities. Children build resilience and independence, developing vital social skills and self-confidence. Creative opportunities suchas arts and crafts allow them to express themselves and make choices. Our team supports each child in mastering self-care routines, building the foundations they need for a confident transition to school.
Our amazing outdoor space
One of the unique features of Pippa’s House Esher is the extensive green space that surrounds our two beautiful buildings. With a dedicated home for under 2s and another for over 2s, each building has its own wonderful outdoor space with age-specific equipment.
This fabulous natural setting provides endless opportunities for outdoor play, discovery, and connection with nature. We proudly run Forest School activities, where children can experience the freedom of outdoor learning, build resilience, develop teamwork, and gain a deep appreciation for the environment. Whether it’s exploring woodland trails, den building, or observing wildlife, our children benefit from the many rich experiences that this inspiring outdoor space offers.
