Exciting news for all our nursery families! We are thrilled to announce that very soon, our nursery locations will be receiving a special delivery—duckling eggs! This hands-on learning experience will give children a front-row seat to the fascinating life cycle of a duckling, from egg to fluffy little friend.
For ten days, the nursery will become home to these incredible eggs as they prepare to hatch. During this time, children will get to witness the changes happening inside the eggs and, if they’re lucky, even see the first crack appear as the ducklings make their entrance into the world.

A Firsthand Look at the Life Cycle of a Duckling
Learning about the life cycle of a duckling isn’t just educational—it’s magical! The children will observe the eggs in their incubator, eagerly waiting for the moment they begin to hatch. The excitement builds as tiny beaks peck their way out of the shell, revealing the fluffy ducklings inside. Watching this transformation firsthand is an unforgettable experience that teaches patience, curiosity, and respect for nature.
Caring for the Ducklings
Once the ducklings have hatched, they will stay with us for a few more days, allowing the children to help care for them. Our little learners will have the opportunity to gently handle the ducklings, watching them grow stronger as they begin to explore their surroundings. They’ll learn about the importance of keeping the ducklings warm, feeding them properly, and ensuring they have clean water to drink.
This hands-on approach not only fosters a sense of responsibility but also creates a deep connection between the children and nature. It’s a wonderful way to introduce young minds to the concept of animal care in a fun and engaging way.

Saying Goodbye and Reflecting on the Experience
After a few days of bonding with the ducklings, it will be time to say goodbye as they return to the farm. While this moment might be bittersweet, it’s an important part of understanding the life cycle of a duckling. The children will learn that every stage of life has its place and that these ducklings will continue to grow and thrive in their natural habitat.
To help commemorate the experience, we encourage children to draw pictures, tell stories, or even keep a small journal about what they’ve learned. This reflective activity allows them to process what they’ve witnessed and solidify their understanding of the ducklings’ journey.
Why This Experience is So Special
Introducing young children to the life cycle of a duckling in such an interactive way nurtures their natural curiosity and fosters a love for learning. It’s an experience filled with wonder, excitement, and valuable lessons about nature, responsibility, and kindness.
We can’t wait to welcome these adorable ducklings into our nurseries and share this incredible experience with all our children. Keep an eye out for updates and be sure to ask your little ones all about their duckling adventures!
