Background Checks (DBS)

All employees are required to undergo an Enhanced Criminal Record Check (DBS).

This is payable by the employee and is currently £52.60*, Pippa’s House Nursery will make this payment on your behalf if required and the value will be deducted from your first salary. If you are unsuccessful obtaining a position with Pippa’s House Nursery you will be liable to return the amount paid to the nursery within 7 days of your unsuccessful application.

Please be aware that failure to disclose any information which is found out later may result in an offer of employment being retracted or termination of your employment should you already be employed by Pippa’s House Nursery.
Pippa’s House Nursery is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 due to the nature of the industry. A copy of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 guidance can be obtained from the setting at which you attend an interview, alternatively it can be viewed online HERE.

Prior to being able to commence employment with Pippa’s House Nursery we must obtain a minimum of 2 references from previous employers.
Should you not have 2 previous employers you must provide details of someone who can provide a character reference. This can be a teacher/tutor, friend, ex-colleague, or someone you provide temporary work for such as baby sitting.
You must not obtain a reference from a family member.
